"Night Watch" is a retrospective of the essence of poet Bei Dao's life's work, personally selected and compiled by Bei Dao, spanning from 1972 to 2022, a full half-century. In 2007, as the poet approached his sixtieth birthday, he began to select 140 poems from his decades-long poetic career for "Night Watch." This collection includes both his early, deeply moving representative poems and works written in his mother tongue during his travels abroad, amidst hardship and the challenges of language transitions.
