This book, written by Zhang Xiaoqin, draws on face-to-face conversations with intangible cultural heritage inheritors. Using transcripts of these conversations and background information, it comprehensively showcases their growth, hardships, and aspirations. Zhang Xiaoqin, a guest researcher at the Museum of Modern Chinese Literature, traveled extensively to Gansu, including the Hexi Corridor, Lianhua Mountain, Labrang Monastery, the Lanzhou Taiping Drum Conservation and Practice Base, and Fengtai District. From over a hundred outstanding intangible cultural heritage inheritors, she carefully selected twelve for on-site interviews. These individuals specialize in areas such as Huaer, suona, treasure scrolls, shadow puppetry, Daoqing shadow puppetry, paper-cutting, sachets, stick puppetry, Tibetan thangkas, filial piety, Taiping drums, and sheepskin rafts.
