History since the Age of Exploration has proven that maritime strategy is an indispensable element in the rise of a nation. To this day, the era of sea power dominance has lasted for five centuries. However, against the backdrop of dramatic changes in global geopolitics today, how traditional land-based powers like China can seek development, how to leverage their land power advantages while pursuing sea power, overcome the challenges of sea power, and achieve national rise has become a pressing issue worthy of serious consideration. This book analyzes the relationship between sea power and land power in the rise and fall of nations from a geopolitical perspective, and delves into the historical patterns of national rise and fall. It reveals that sea power does not solely determine national rise and fall, but must rely on the existence of land power factors. It innovatively proposes the concept of "land-based foundation," and also analyzes the pursuit of sea power by land-based nations, as well as the extension and strengthening effect of sea power on land power. This has constructive significance for building a geopolitical theoretical paradigm with Chinese characteristics.
