This book explores the definition and characteristics of diplomatic history, introduces the development and current status of Western diplomatic history, and the development of Chinese diplomatic history research from the late Qing Dynasty, the Republic of China, and after 1949 to the present day, along with several noteworthy research trends. Finally, the conclusion provides a review of the discipline, the nature and methods of diplomatic history research, and research prospects.
