This book tells the story of how, for years, the little turtles climbed onto the back of the big turtle to pick fresh berries. The big turtles, on the other hand, were forced to eat the sour, rotten berries that fell to the ground. Witnessing this injustice, the little turtle faced a choice: stand by and watch, or take action. At the end of the story, the author includes a "Message to Parents," offering suggestions on how to help children bravely express their ideas and needs within a group.
