This book is based on the author's own experience and is about modern urban love or self-reflection, self-doubt, self-searching with love as the clue and opportunity, and finally achieving a miraculous self-redemption in the unexpected development of events. The protagonists of the story, Gao Haiyuan and Lin Xiaoqing, are young subject teachers who teach in an ordinary high school in a small southern city.
