This book tells the story of the growth of a pediatrician. The protagonist, Dr. Ke Xiaotian, majoring in child health, stayed at the Children's Hospital of Jiangnan Medical University after graduation and began his medical career in the respiratory department of pediatric internal medicine. While he was struggling to diagnose the child in the hospital, he also had household matters that were unknown to outsiders: his wife suffered from familial hepatitis B. Although she had been undergoing treatment with Ke Xiaotian's help, she still dared not have a child. Faced with parents eager to have a grandchild and a wife shrouded in the shadow of the disease, Ke Xiaotian decided to start preparing for pregnancy after constant research and consultation with experts, and to use medical knowledge to block the hepatitis B virus. Faced with all kinds of diseases diagnosed and treated in the pediatric department, and faced with the family responsibility of scientific pregnancy preparation to block hepatitis B, Ke Xiaotian gradually grew up.

本书讲述了一个儿科医生的成长之路。主人公儿童保健学专业的柯小田博士毕业后留在了江南医科大学附属儿童医院, 从小儿内科的呼吸科开始了他的从医之路。一边在医院为患儿诊断焦头烂额, 一边又有不为外人所知的家务事: 妻子患有家族性乙肝, 虽然在柯小田的帮助下一直坚持治疗, 但妻子始终不敢要孩子。面对抱孙心切的父母和笼罩在疾病阴影下的妻子, 柯小田在不断研究和请教专家后, 决心开始备孕, 并要用医学知识, 将乙肝病毒阻断。面对儿科科室诊疗中形形色色的疾病, 面对科学备孕阻断乙肝的家庭责任, 柯小田逐渐成长。
