This book uses twenty objects of daily life to write an interesting and unusual history of feminist struggle. With 20 concrete objects - barricades, guns, collages, newspapers; ballot boxes, wreaths, the French Civil Code, bank cards; contraceptives, hangers, abortion items, menstrual products; "bread and roses", household appliances; trousers, pockets, bustles, corsets, bras, headscarves - as clues, it writes about France's "200 Years of Feminism" and constructs a field of memory for French women from the streets to the home, from clothing to the body.
