This book is the first in the Cangcheng series of original novels by Yunnan author Acuo. The story takes place in Cangcheng, a small town in the folds of the Hengduan Mountains in Yunnan. In the last century, it was a granary in northwest Yunnan and an important town on the Ancient Tea-Horse Road. In the book, from the perspective of "I", I listen to my mother's stories about the past - the psychic woman "Narcissus" who was abducted as a slave before liberation, the "Zhai Girl" who never married, and the "Female Horse Driver" who worked alone as a caravan for the family's livelihood... These women were not chosen by life, but used their strong vitality to find a way out for themselves.
