It explores their relationships with major international social actors such as international non-governmental organizations, intergovernmental organizations, multinational corporations, and sovereign states from an interactive perspective. Through case studies of transnational debt relief, anti-dam, and cluster munitions ban movements, it demonstrates that contemporary transnational social movements have had a significant and positive impact on the structure and process of global governance in shaping global governance issues and proposing policy initiatives, promoting the democratization of global governance, shaping global governance norms and institutions, and driving changes in global governance models. The book combines theoretical analysis with case studies, highlighting the interdisciplinary integration of political sociology and international relations.
