The author is a descendant of the School of Food and Goods. This book collects more than a dozen articles written by the author over the years on politics, economics, and law, most of which have been published in authoritative C journals, such as Literature, History, and Philosophy, Journal of Tsinghua University, Reading, Journal of Zhejiang University, and Studies on Ming and Qing Novels. The content of this book covers topics such as material life in the Ming Dynasty (financial coinage, land policy, local food, and water travel), the U.S. Constitution, American local traditions, modern British politicians, modern Sino-U.S. diplomatic figures, modern and contemporary financial phenomena, the issue of Quebec independence, and the legend of the Kennedy family in the United States. All of these topics belong to the category of politics, economy, and law, which is the basic field of food and good scholarship, and can well represent the "family rules" of the School of Food and Goods.
