As a long-time observer, he was able to calmly and precisely touch the wounds of this nation: at the scene of imminent protests, "Make America Great Again" and "Racial Equality" are two slogans that are not contradictory, yet they both push Americans together and pull them far apart; Black men who escaped the cotton fields of slavery are forever trapped in the nightmare of lynching, unable to find their place in the national myth; at the ruins of former federal schools, a group of people searched like a needle in a haystack for the burial grounds of children's remains—would they succeed?
