This book describes the whole process of fighting against evil landlords in a village called Yuanmaotun in Northeast China, from the initial stage of land reform to the review of problems and deepening of work in the middle and late stages of land reform. From the "unexpected failure" of the first poor peasants and hired peasants' meeting held after the Yuanmaotun land reform work team entered the village, to the "three fights against landlord Han Laoliu", and then to the defeat of the insidious and cunning landlord Du Shanren under the leadership of Communist Party member Zhao Yulin and young farmer Guo Quanhai.
