This book tells the story of Johannes Kepler (1571-1630), a famous astronomer and mathematician, who was originally a theologian; his interests also included philosophy, history, physics, meteorology, and astrology. In his search for the laws of cosmic harmony, he discovered three planetary laws named after him with the help of Tycho Brahe's observations. Ahead of his time, he broke through Copernicus' heliocentric worldview and recognized the true dimensions of the solar system, but was still trapped by the idea of a finite universe created by God. Kepler's work was very important for the creation of Newton's law of universal gravitation.
