Possible Worlds records Yang Xiao's travels, study visits, and short-term stays in more than a dozen countries, including the United States, Egypt, Kenya, Myanmar, and Germany, from 2010 to 2019. It is a journey of a young man who embraces the world and goes to the scene to explore possibilities (and recognize impossibilities). The decade from 2010 to 2019 was a decade in which the Chinese and Chinese passports truly embraced the world. Looking back, this is more like a special favor from history, and it is almost inevitable to be treated with nostalgia. The author leads us back to one scene after another, allowing today's eyes to shine into the records of the time. From multiple dimensions such as current affairs, humanities, history, and geography, it explores how we learn to get along with the past in a world of transition, how to face the implosion and contingency of history, and how to explore and think about a possible world.
