This volume of *Single Reading* is a sequel to the critically acclaimed and long-selling book series *Single Reading 26: A Collection of True Stories from Around the World*. *A Collection of True Stories from Around the World II* translates six works that were shortlisted for the first global journalistic award, the Swiss "True Story Prize," in 2021 and 2023. These stories revolve around a pair of adversaries at Guantanamo Bay, the realities of life in Greater Tehran prison in Iran, the sexual assault of a German father, the passing of an elderly Spanish man during the pandemic, the resistance to Polish cultural memory, and the Rohingya people of Myanmar who have been exiled multiple times.
