This book places Lin Huiyin in big history, restores the prototype of China's first generation female architectural scholar who is enterprising, sober, full of introspection but also full of contradictions, and maintains independence and fighting spirit in difficult situations. It deconstructs Lin Huiyin's scandal and chicken soup. It also presents the common issues faced by intellectual elites in the Republic of China era in terms of awareness of marriage and love, awareness of reform, and awareness of nationality. At the same time, Lin Huiyin is used as a case study to explore the public discussion and scrutiny that women who have made outstanding contributions in the public sphere generally face.
