The book focuses on analyzing the history of technological upgrading in the United States, the Soviet Union, Japan and other countries after World War II from the perspective of political economy, and also examines the impact of the competition for hegemony in Europe since the end of the 15th century, such as the Portuguese-Spanish competition, the Anglo-Dutch competition, and the Anglo-French competition on technological change, and also examines the experience of the history of technological change in ancient China.
