The book's title is taken from the last four characters of a line from a poem by Xie Lingyun, a poet of the Eastern Jin Dynasty: "Looking closely at the records, they were never mentioned in the primordial chaos." It means "stories unmentioned since the beginning of time." Using the *Classic of Mountains and Seas* and *In Search of the Supernatural* as source material, the book focuses on three classic myths: "The Yellow Emperor's Battle Against Chiyou," "Nuwa Mending the Sky," and "Gonggong's Wrathful Collision with Buzhou Mountain," employing a dual-narrative structure. The content primarily tells the story of the past and present lives of a girl (Pingyi) who created the stone used to mend the sky, and her sincere relationship with the god of order, Taiyi. It also recounts the story of another mythological figure, the drought goddess Ba (Qingba), whose misunderstanding of her father, the Yellow Emperor, plunges the three realms into conflict.
