A primary school in Kagoshima Prefecture received a bomb threat. Bomb disposal team members Komazawa and Ubara arrived at the scene and discovered a black box. After successfully defusing the bomb, it exploded the next moment, seriously injuring Komazawa. Before the situation could calm down, the team received another report that a bomb had been planted in an oxygen chamber at a hotel in downtown Kagoshima. An official was sleeping inside, and the chamber would explode if the lid was opened. A similar device was also discovered at a US military base in Okinawa.
