This is a full-length novel. The title of the book, "Da Chun", refers to a custom in the Northern Song Dynasty. It refers to a ceremony of whipping soil to shape a spring cow, which means working hard at spring plowing and looking forward to the harvest. The heroine of the novel, Shen Aqi, is the daughter of Shen Chulue, a Chaozhou maritime merchant during the Northern Song Dynasty. Her father's three ships of fragrant medicine were shipwrecked and her family fell into ruin, so she worked in Chaozhou Baiyao Village. After becoming an adult, Shen Aqi was brought to Tokyo by his second brother Shen Zhiwu and reunited with his parents in the suburbs of Beijing. Later he married Chen Yunqing. When he was newly married, Chen Yunqing was ordered by the imperial court to go on a mission to various Tibetan countries to preach about the Song Dynasty's policy of promoting shipping. Shen Aqi's orphaned and widowed mother began to encounter various difficulties, and was even expelled from the Chen family to "wait for the boat at the beach", leading a life of diversion.
