This collection of poems stems directly from the poet's experiences growing up and living in Gaza, which has been under long-term blockade and frequently attacked. As a former child, now a father, and a survivor of numerous military attacks, he has witnessed the brutal cycle of destruction and annihilation. But beyond shells and drones, there is also the aroma of tea, blooming roses, and sunsets over the sea. Children are born, families continue their traditions, students go to university, libraries rise from the ruins… Palestinians continue their lives, creating beauty and seeking new ways of survival. At the beginning of the book, the poet sketches the lives of Palestinians using a "Palestinian Dictionary," showcasing the collective memory of the Palestinian people. In the "Author Interview," he discusses his own experiences in Gaza, his family origins, and how he embarked on his poetic journey. A young poet and translator of similar age, Li Wan, has written a heartfelt afterword, further introducing and explaining the book's significance.
