This book is an annual novel selection by Zhang Li, a professor at the School of Literature of Beijing Normal University and a well-known literary critic. It consists of 20 short stories selected from works published in important literary journals such as "People's Literature", "Harvest", "October", and "Contemporary". This selection mainly shows the unique style of Chinese short stories in 2024, with diverse themes and different aesthetic pursuits of writers.
