"Anyue" is the first volume in the "Epic of Grottoes" series by Duku, introducing readers to the exquisitely crafted and exceptionally elegant grottoes and sculptures of the Anyue region, comparable to Dazu in their status as representative works of Sichuan and even China's grottoes. It provides detailed introductions to eight national key cultural relics protection units, including the Wofoyuan Grottoes, Huayan Cave, and Mingshan Temple. The construction and restoration of the Anyue Grottoes spanned from the Five Dynasties, Tang and Song Dynasties to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, playing a pivotal historical and geographical role in the eastward transmission of grotto art to China.
