This book tells the story of the poet Virgil, who, on his deathbed, followed Augustus' fleet across the Adriatic Sea and returned to Italy. On the last day of his life, from night to day, he reviewed his life on his sickbed in the palace, thinking about the dangers and pains of the living world, the value of art and literature in the reality of suffering, and the return and redemption of people in the face of fate and death. He decided to destroy the Aeneid he had worked so hard to write. But when facing his friends and the emperor directly, how should he choose between listening and self-justification? Can his soul achieve the highest ascension and rebirth?
