This book, adapted from "Zou Ji's Advice to the King of Qi" in "Strategies of the Warring States: Qi Strategies I," tells the story of Zou Ji, a counselor of Qi during the Warring States Period, who persuaded the king to accept advice, encourage open communication, and improve politics. The text portrays Zou Ji as a wise and self-aware ruler, resourceful and courageous in offering advice. It also portrays King Wei of Qi as a wise ruler who recognized his mistakes, readily accepted advice, and demonstrated his strong desire and resolve for political reform.
