This book is one of the results of a series of activities carried out by Sichuan Province to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of its scenic areas. Sichuan, as a major resource province, cultural province, and tourism province in China, boasts a large number of scenic resources, diverse types, concentrated distribution, and excellent quality, showcasing prominent characteristics such as "majestic," "precipitous," "unique," "beautiful," "secluded," "magnificent," and "red" (referring to historical and cultural significance). It has constructed a highly distinctive and comprehensive scenic system. Sichuan's scenic areas place greater emphasis on the cultural value of natural landscapes, stressing the organic integration and interdependence of natural and historical values. Their protected objects are organic entities combining nature and culture, embodying extremely high aesthetic value for landscape appreciation, preservation value for typical natural features, ecological environmental protection value, historical and cultural heritage value, and scientific research and educational value, as well as economic value.
