"Making Up for My Clumsiness: The Autobiography of You Benchang" is the official autobiography of performing artist You Benchang. From his quiet dedication to 79 minor roles, to his overnight fame as "Ji Gong," and then to his resurgence as "Uncle" in "Blossoms" at nearly 90 years old, this book records the artistic life of this veteran artist over the past ninety years. On stage, he was a theater fanatic, a Ji Gong, Uncle, and Master Hongyi, believing in the lifelong motto of "Live to learn, learn, and correct until old age." In life, however, he admitted that he "didn't understand people or life," feeling estranged and distant from his family, and indebted to them. After "Blossoms," he was full of ambition, but suddenly fell seriously ill and went into a coma in the ICU. After being pulled back from the brink of death, he re-examined his life and decided to spend the rest of his life making up for everything he owed his family. The two words "making up for my clumsiness" are his answer to this life. This book publishes for the first time a large number of precious photos and manuscripts, including behind-the-scenes photos of "Ji Gong," filming diaries of "Blossoms," and in-depth interviews with his wife, son, and daughter.
