This textbook consists of 14 chapters, briefly introducing the definition, standards, classification, strategies, methods and processes of translation, analyzing the differences between English and Chinese languages and cultures and their impact on translation, focusing on common translation techniques and methods such as word conversion, word addition, repetition, omission, positive and negative conversion, translation of attributive clauses, noun clauses, adverbial clauses, as well as passive voice and long sentence translation. The content of the textbook constitutes a complete system. The textbook adheres to the principle of combining theory with practice. Each translation technique or method will be explained in combination with a certain number of translation cases. Most chapters are followed by translation exercises, combined with examination materials, focusing on ability training.
