This book tells the story of Lynx Detective and Rabbit Six, who are investigating a robbery one evening. Upon arriving at the scene, they are surrounded by vendors who all recount their experiences of being robbed by a shadowy figure. Lynx Detective learns that a giant-eyed monster stole their goods. Further investigation leads Lynx to the shadowy figure under a bridge. However, they then discover that Uncle Possum has collapsed on the riverbank, preventing them from continuing their pursuit of the giant-eyed monster. After some searching and deduction, Lynx discovers that it was Possum who impersonated the giant-eyed monster and stole their belongings. Ultimately, Lynx Detective arrests Possum.
