"Understanding Herbs Through the Solar Terms" is a set of four illustrated books that encourage the promotion of traditional Chinese medicine culture, the inheritance of the spirit of herbal medicine, and the deepening of national unity. The entire set is structured around the twenty-four solar terms, with each book containing stories of searching for herbs during six solar terms of a season. The stories are drawn from the early lives of the author, Chen Xin, and his father, Chen Wenbo, a renowned national-level traditional Chinese medicine doctor. The books tell the story of seven-year-old Xiao Xin, who travels across the country with his doctor father in search of medicinal herbs. As time and space change, the father and son collect and identify herbs, treating patients and saving lives.
