This novel, written by Shenzhen-based author Lei Xianping, focuses on the theme of "Green and Beautiful Guangdong Ecological Construction." In the 1980s, under the influence and leadership of young cadres like Zhu Chengzhi, Nanzhou District developed rural tourism and embarked on a path of rapid prosperity. In the 1990s, the Nanzhou District government relocated eastward, introducing tourism-plus-planting projects, resulting in unprecedented prosperity. Since the new century, Nanzhou District has introduced projects such as the Nanzhou Film and Television City and a university town, launching the "One Village, One Product" project, transforming itself into a cultural tourism hub. Nanzhou District has thus become known as "China's Most Beautiful Rural Tourism Destination" and a "Model New Socialist Countryside." Through the changes in Nanzhou District, the novel tells the story of two generations of district cadres in the Pearl River Delta leading the people in building a beautiful homeland.
