This book is divided into four chapters: clothing, jewelry, makeup, and hairstyles, meticulously examining the names, styles, and combinations of various makeup styles of the time. It features familiar historical figures such as Yang Guifei, Wu Zetian, Shangguan Wan'er, Nie Yinniang, and Princess Tongchang. Based on existing archaeological findings and appropriate speculation, it designs possible attire for each figure, with clothing, jewelry, hairstyles, makeup, and settings all documented. A one-meter-long scroll is appended at the end of the book, outlining the order of dressing and makeup steps for Tang Dynasty women, and the fashion changes over nearly four hundred years of the Sui and Tang dynasties.
